Golden Isles Vision Master Plan

The City of Hallandale Beach and the Golden Isles Safe Neighborhood District (GISND) are in the process of developing the Golden Isles Vision Plan.

The city considers making various improvements in the Golden Isles sub-division including the installation of new underground utilities, sidewalks, upgraded lighting, landscaping for improved safety. These improvements will require reconstruction on much of the streets in the sub-division. This Plan will guide the final roadway design and overall improvements to Layne Boulevard and the other streets in the community will mirror those improvements.

During the last several months, the GISND Advisory Board has been working with the City of Hallandale Beach and Stantec Consulting Services to identify potential safety and functional designs for the future reconstruction of Layne Boulevard.  Various concepts have considered elements such as sidewalks, bike lanes, shared-use paths, traffic calming, median enhancements, a dedicated drive aisle for the existing on-street condominium parking spaces and possible relocation or expansion of the median in its current location addressing drainage, lighting and under grounding of utilities, among other factors.

Stantec, the engineering firm contracted by the Golden Isles Safe Neighborhood District (GISND), has continued, over the last few months, their work in refining the concepts related to the redevelopment of the Golden Isles guardhouse, bridges, Layne Blvd., and community streets. You can see below the latest concepts.

Please note that these are initial concepts subject to change and modifications.
